About the Winnebagoland Barbershop ChorusThe Winnebagoland Barbershop Chorus takes pride in its many service activities and giving back to the community. On an annual basis, we help support two or more local charities from our fundraising events. Charities are chosen by a committee that assesses many contenders and makes selections after extensive research and discussion. We also award college scholarships to students majoring in music education, and provide funding to high school students attending Young Men In Harmony camps.
Our group is active year round and has its annual show in March. In May, we sponsor a Youth in Harmony Festival to encourage young men’s interest in barbershopping. During the summer, on three or four non-consecutive Sundays, we visit various local churches and sing two songs. It's not unusual for us to sing at 10 different churches on a given Sunday morning. Annually, in late fall, we present our Barbershop Dinner Concert at La Sure's Hall in Oshkosh. Our chorus is available to perform at special events (e.g., company and private parties, conventions, special church functions, nursing homes, assisted living centers). We also have quartets available to perform for anniversaries, weddings, and special events. See the Contact Us page for booking information. Join Us We are always looking for new members and welcome any man with an interest in singing the barbershop style of music to attend our rehearsals. See the Contact Us page for rehearsal location and membership information. Vertical Divider
