What's going on after a challenging summer
We remain back in action and have been rehearsing and performing for a while, now.
We arranged for a new Director Tawnia. With the official inclusion of the fairer sex to our ranks this would be a good time to invite your spouse or your girlfriend Invite your friends, your sister, mother or anyone who
would like to sing.
We normally sing in our main venue, Peace Lutheran Church in the basement, on Oregon and 9th,
but now we start at 6pm and are done by 8pm.
We would love to get the old gang back together and keep the whole world singing.
We teamed up with the Ripon chapter, formerly the Country Harmonizers, in the early summer and rehearsed for a joint show, put on at the Ripon High School on September 18th.
The first half was a set of our popular chorus music followed, after the interval, by a great performance by our guest Quartet "St. Croix Crossing", recent Senior champions for Land Of the Lakes. We had good attendance and fun was had by all.
We were invited to sing the National anthem for the Timber Rattlers - the first performance was cancelled by rain, but we filled in a few weeks later.
Other singing activities included our traditional chicken chew that we hosted with other local choruses joining in . A few of us attended the well-organized Land of the Lakes District convention in downtown Minneapolis. A notable event there was the well-deserved award of District Barbershopper of the year to Bob Bengsch - one of the hardest working barbershoppers in the area!
We have been very grateful for the superb support of the Ripon chorus through this period, and will continue to work together on joint events over the next few months.
Also many thanks to Art Loos and Roger Freund for their organizational effort "well beyond the call of duty"!
Look out for more detailed news shortly. November 2021.
We will leave in place the examples of our past activities, so you will have a better idea of what we will achieve on our full return.
WANNA SING?? We are always looking for new members and welcome any man with an interest in singing the barbershop style of music to attend our rehearsals. See our Contact Us page for rehearsal location and membership information.
