WESTHAVEN QUARTET

Howie Frank,  Mike Gray,  Chris (C.J.) Wedell,  Don Derozier

Originating from a sub-division of Oshkosh, WESTHAVEN has developed into a popular performing quartet that features classics, 50’s to Modern, and show tunes.  Because their music crosses generations, they are able to customize a program to fit the needs of a variety of venues.  The quartet won Novice Champs in the Packerland Division in 2013 and 2017.

Members include:

Tenor: Howie Frank is married, a loving grandpa and maintenance manager for a large Catholic parish in Oshkosh.  He is WESTHAVEN’s sound man and has his own small business.  He plays acoustic guitar and bass for his own Christian community.

Lead: Mike Gray is married and recently retired from Bemis Corporation as a color specialist.  He is an avid fisherman and hunter, and was president of the Oshkosh chapter for the past several years.  He is the manager and promoter of the quartet who “would rather sing than eat,” and does so in any venue.


Bass: Chris (C.J.) Wedell is married, a father and served as Fire Chief and dive specialist for Wautoma, Wisconsin and is a firefighter with the Oshkosh FD.  The newest member, he also serves as president of the Oshkosh chapter.  During winter months, he has a small business of a dive-and-rescue-recovery type.


Baritone: Don Derozier is married, a retired psychologist, current member of the Secular Franciscan Order, and aspiring novelist.  He has served the chorus in several capacities.  He plays tenor sax in a “big band” and combo from his parish.  His first historical novel, “The Nabataean,” is in production with Westbow Press.
